How did you roll back to the older version of disqus? If I disable Disqus the problem does not go away – I actually get my WP comments box back just fine for the logged in users, and non logged in people STILL get skunked page loads… so that really freaks me out!
I have a related problem – Disqus works just fine for logged in users, but fails to load for users who are not logged in. See for yourself here: http://www.triplepundit.com
Does anyone have this particular problem?
Thanks!

In reply to: Facebook? Comments? Bizarro! What continues to blow my mind is the logged in vs logged out thing. There must be some difference in the theme that’s skunking if you’re not logged in…. you’re right it’s got to have something to do with this worthlesss Disqus plugin…. but shouldn’t disabling it solve the problem the same as deleting it?

In reply to: Facebook? Comments? Bizarro! What does it mean to run a “diff” … one of the things that sucks so much about wordpress is I have to actually download files and FTP them up to edit templates. It makes managing this shit almost impossible. IE most changes are probably lost since I just make them in the WP edit sreen.
What’s the best way to do it? especially considering I’m on a Mac and only the worst programs available to do this…. Can I just download everything in my theme directory? Are there any free programs for the mac to use to edit this stuff?

In reply to: Facebook? Comments? Bizarro!I think it’s got to be disqus [moronic explicative deleted] things up again, but I’m baffled that it still stays screwy even when I disable disqus!

In reply to: Facebook? Comments? Bizarro!yes, I did. Commenting works fine. So yeah, it’s obviously “theme specific” But I’m not sure how that helps me since NOTHING has changed

In reply to: Facebook? Comments? Bizarro!Yeah, i’ve been messing with the plugins, it’s not doing anything. Sure it’s “theme specific” but since I haven’t edited the theme, that doesn’t really help! I can’t just switch to some horrid default theme… what in the world could have changed this?

In reply to: Facebook? Comments? Bizarro! To elaborate – you can only see the problem if you go to an article page – any page. Note that the whole page does not load. I don’t know what the F is going on here. Again, I have changed nothing.
Why would anyone want that popup in the corner? Is that the only way that this plugin works?

In reply to: Killing the Linked Images NuisanceYeah, I know it won’t change old posts (how could it?), but it still happens all the time with new ones, and there are so many people blogging now who refuse to lean HTML (should be illegal IMHO), that this problem CONSTANTLY appears.
Most definitely if you are using a giant image, like a chart, and have reason for people to magnify it, then this is useful.
But 99% of the time, this is just a nuisance for the reader who often accidentally clicks on it, plus it’s just unneeded crap code.

In reply to: Page Coding Questionsokay weird – the code you gave works for all pages and posts, but my front page title is now the title of my most recent post. How could taht be happening? Once a new post comes along, the title will change to the most recent post… I just want the name of my blog there

In reply to: Someone using Headspace2?it definitely does some goofy things, and I can’t get it to work with WP 3.0 either, but it could be some voodoo in there with other plugins, problem is it’s a long trial and error to figure out what’s up, so you might as well try it out.
