I have a similar issue and I have noticed this:
Address is created as followed http://adresse-site-web.fr/?post_type=tribe_events&tribe_events_cat=u7&eventDisplay=month&eventDate=2013-11
The events category doesn’t work, and calendar view takes all events.
In a another order of criteria : http://adresse-site-web.fr/?post_type=tribe_events&eventDate=2013-11&tribe_events_cat=u7&eventDisplay=month (you can notice the move for eventDate criteria)
Calendar works with the events of selected category.
Is it an knowed issue? Could you fixed it?
