Thanks for the response, much appreciated. Good question and point on canocial. At first thought, I’m not exactly sure, will ask our tech team later this week. At first glance I believe it does, quality is rarely an issue for our site. We are in Google News and Google Newsstand and everything on our latest article for example comes up perfect in the Google validation tool (including structured data), at least from this test from what I can see – https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=5IgnTsrSNblXQvtEaDh5XQ
My primary question though is to simply establish firstly at a basic level, if we have the correct settings selected here – https://imgur.com/a/J80bG – as it’s a little confusing to understand do they actually mean ‘indexed’ or ‘not indexed’ for boxes checked or unchecked in the lower portion of the menu in the above screenshot.
Greetings
Thank you for the reply. Yes, we also work on Sunday. Please see previous response. Following deactivating the new Facebook like page function in your plugin we resolved the error entirely ourselves and can assure you, this was a plugin fault as our amp pages are once again validating fine (for now at least).
As previously advised, our senior web team will continue to collect and collate all relevant data on this plugin, every day, as we have done so far since these constant issues and crashes started happening two months ago and then, depending on if our organic amp traffic starts coming back to normal levels before all these crashes and validation errors began, and the plugin no longer has crashes and validates our website pages, we will make one final decision as to whether or not this plugin is worth the hassle anymore, or it’s associated plugins which we purchased, which we have been disgusted with overall over the past two months to be honest since these non stop problems all began.
Thank you for your time and response. Look forward to hopefully no more crashes before the end of November 2017 and hopefully being able to continue. All the best. Thanks and take care.

Problem fixed after about 4 hours of testing – https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=FudMhmxrLVbisNgYz1RdAQ
It’s fixed on that page at least. What happened was the AMPforWP plugin did not gel with the Ad Inserter plugin. I’ve removed Ad Inserter plugin which seems to have fixed the issue and allow all of our pages to be validated in the AMP tester again.
PS – Thank you for the reply Ad Inserter author plugin but we tried your advice multiple times and also cleared the cache multiple times but after extensive testing, we still found that at least 25% our articles were not validating with the above problem.
Thanks anyway and all the best.

In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] Extra amp-customUpdate 2:
I have tested this issue on a large number of articles. This ‘style amp custom’ error is happening roughly on 25% or new articles so is not allowing our AMP pages to be fully rendered or validated by Google.
It is an issue with the plugin which we suspect has been there for a while, as we noticed strange dips of AMP pages been submitted in search console by our web team over the last 5-6 weeks.
See here for more: https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=vGl1Lu6rDe7ri8p2pIg3Ug

Update:
Trying to resolve the issue as per https://wordpress.org/support/topic/extra-amp-custom/
It seems some of articles are still having the extra amp custom tag, while some are not.
Will take a look back in a few hours.

In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] Extra amp-customHi guys
Just wanted to drop by as we were having the same problem and tried your advice but it seems to be working on some pages and not others.
See here for more:
Original issue – https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=nQO39i1JmCh4IvcGhtPjUA
When we deactivated the Ad Inserter plugin, deleted and then re-uploaded manually the version you suggested:
See here for result example – https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=mfDvbBLIyYjTMK_atn1yrw
But still not working on https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=ImmFrMnbwh45wl-ARDlD9g
Minify issue resolved as per tonight’s update of plugin. Have cleared cache and tested on Boxing News and Views – many thanks guys.
I have no fixed my issue with Google now accepting our amp homepage as a valid amp page again. The issue seems to happen when option ‘minify amp’ under performance tab is selected. Hope feedback helps.
Same issue as above user at https://www.boxingnewsandviews.com/amp. Also the homepage is not being accepted in the AMP test by Google see here saying it is not a valid AMP page – https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=gws&utm_medium=onebox&utm_campaign=suit&id=zzkd3CDsJV4-9QXFuOinIA. Articles seem to be working fine though.
Thanks guys. Everything looks normal on Boxing News and Views again although we will be watching today’s update of the plugin closely. Thanks, Niall.
Thanks all. I look forward to Saturday’s update Mohammed.
Thanks Frenchomatic, cool – I might try that later this evening.

In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] Error version 0.9.57 categoryThanks Marqas. Great. Everything looks to be working on our site again now except one final small thing on mobile devices. See below link. All our other amp pages on mobile seem to work perfect, just except for our homepage. Is there a setting we need to select for this?
(Just one error left to get Google to accept our homepage in AMP on mobile devices)

In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] Error version 0.9.57 categoryHi guys,
Automattic told me to pass on the following feedback to you (I’ve tried emailing you many times in recent days since our site went down because of your plugin but have not had a reply yet):
Joen (Automattic)
Aug 10, 08:26 EDTHello again Niall,
Returning with feedback from the devs! =)
The method was changed to be static 9 months ago (in November 2016 to be precise) – it’s nothing new. See Automattic/amp-wp#569 and Automattic/amp-wp@8e2d23b for more details.
The error comes from another plugin that’s not owned/managed by us (https://wordpress.org/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/). They need to update their code to use the updated static method definition, but there’s nothing we can do – it’s their plugin 😉The devs recommend getting in touch with the support team of the AMP for WP plugin, and report the error to them. The details of the solution are below.
It’s fairly simple, they are already calling the method statically:
add_action( ‘amp_customizer_register_ui’, array( __CLASS__, ‘register_customizer_ui’ ) );
so all they need to do is alter all occurrences of:
public function register_customizer_ui(
to:
public static function register_customizer_ui(
– In conclusion, our site is back up and seems to be working but your AMP plugin is still causing errors in our server logs and we cannot download the Automattic plugin anymore for boxingnewsandviews.com can you confirm does the updated version of your plugin no longer require the previous Automattic one? Our AMP pages appear to be working but if you can check them it would be great, not fully sure if the plugin is working to be honest. We also have the paid ad addon for the plugin.
