I tried this custom css edit, and nothing changes on the website.

I thought this question would be easy, but it has been passed over several times.

fantversion.php is reporting version 2.2.1, which is the version installed and updated by Fantastico. The server is still sending me the outdated notice.

Even stranger, I am also getting the notice for an installation on a domain that no longer exists.

    What to do?

Did not solve the problem for me using 2.2.1. The Subject line posts as the Title, but there is no message content. The commenting of Line 372 solution worked, but the period at the end of the post requires manual editing, completely defeating the purpose of blogging by email.

Thanks. I understand a little CSS, but I was not clear where to make the global change.

No, I mean the fonts in a WP installation. I do not want a user to have to reduce his own font size when reading my blog and then have to return it to normal when going back. I’m not sure what the codex is.

The article is at http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email. Look particularly at Step 3.

If you go to Options | Writing and under Writing by email, enter the domain name of your server where the POP account is hosted, just as if you are setting up an email account in Outlook or Outlook Express. (mail.mydomain.com, or pop.mindspring.com). The login name is the name that allows you to retrieve email. Remember that on a shared server, the login is probably the entire email address, user@mydomain.com, not just user. The password is the same password that you use to get mail. I use a POP box on the same server, for what it’s worth. There may be problems popping out of Gmail or one of the online webmail services. (Make sure you set up the POP account before starting this process.) That’s all the setup that is necessary. However, email will not be posted to the web unless you do one of three things listed in the documentation. There is a file installed with WP that when you run it, the mail is transferred from the POP box to WP. Unfortunately I cannot find the post at the moment, but I’ll keep looking.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If I post by email, I have to go into the web interface to remove the unwanted
tags, which means that I might as well post from the web. That problem makes post by email worthless. I assume that many people are using post by email successfully. Could someone please explain what I may be doing wrong?

I am using WP 2.0. BlogJet is at http://www.blogjet.com/forum/. Regarding the Options settings, the only two items on the Miscellaneous | Options pages are “Track Links’ Update Times” and “Use legacy my-hacks.php file support.”

BlogJet is fully compatible with WordPress. If even has a profile for uploading to it. I was able to get it to work with an FTP upload, but it is cleaner to use what they call (direct upload). It doesn’t work, which makes me think that it is a server issue.

There is supposed to be an “allow pictures to be uploaded” on the WP Options page, but as above, it is not there.

I have followed the procedure and installed the Cron script. However, when an email message posts to the blog, it has broken lines from misplaced hard returns. The message was sent to the secret POP account in plain text, so I don’t know where the hard returns are coming from. They were sent from Outlook 2000. Is there any way to correct this problem?

What format does the email have to be in to be able to post it? I tried sending an HTML email to my blog, and it showed up as garbage.

Here is what I did. I installed the latest version in /wp instead of /wordpress. Then I copied config.php from /wordpress to /wp. Every time I tried to run /wp/index.php, I ended up in /wordpress. So, I renamed that folder. Then nothing worked. I tried upgrade and install, to no avail. So, I went to phpMyAdmin and emptied the database. Then I had to run /wp/install.php. It tried to create database entries, but they already existed, so there were a lot of database errors. After all was said and done, I ran /wp/index.php, and all appears to be working correctly.
It appears that I should have emptied the database before trying to reuse it. I pass that information along for the next newbie who has the same problem.
In a brand new install, does install.php create the mySQL database, or does it have to be created manually? Linux is awesome, but since I don’t know much about it, I don’t know how WP knows how to tie into mySQL. There must be some system parameters that I cannot see that tie the two together.
