In reply to: Unable to login after 4.2.3 updateI’ve no idea what happened this morning. Multiple web browsers would not let me log into my WordPress installs.
After triggering several password resets, the password reset emails finally began arriving after an hour and I was able to regain access.
Whether this was 4.2.3 related, or jetpack issues I’ve no idea.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login after 4.2.3 updateFurther info on this. I’m trying to remain calm…
The install that I was still logged into is unresponsive to changes, Even deleting the Genesis theme I’m using, to force it to revert to 2015 theme does not work.
Is there a way to roll back to a previous WordPress install?

In reply to: Unable to login after 4.2.3 updateOK, so I read the Master List, renamed the plugin folder. Also, I was still logged in to one install, so I swapped the theme to 2015 on that one.
Neither had any effect.
Additionally, when I ask for a password reset avi email, nothing happens.

In reply to: Unable to login after 4.2.3 updateThanks for the fast response.
As I cannot get to my admin to do this, how would I reset the plugins via FTP? Remove them individually?

In reply to: [Reduce Bounce Rate] Catpcha to reduce automated joining? Thanks for the tip. I’ve found a Capcha plugin that seems to be doing the job. However, I’ll note that down, it’s a useful piece of code, will probably add it also.
Cheers,

In reply to: [Reduce Bounce Rate] Catpcha to reduce automated joining? You’re quite right! RTFM problem! Thanks, I’ll repost on the correct area. Your plugin works superbly, by the way!

In reply to: [Reduce Bounce Rate] Catpcha to reduce automated joining?Sorry, let me explain further. In the past, my websites have had ‘Anyone Can register’ disabled, as I find that it just attracts automated Hotmail spam registration. I’m trying to create a member area where people can access content not viewable otherwise. You plugin is perfect for making sure that people use their real names (required field on signup) etc. However, this doesn’t get around the non-human spam stuff.
I guess I could cut the ‘grace period’ for unverified signups right down to one day, then they would be deleted quickly. I was hoping that by having a Captcha as an option on the ‘register user’ form, that would cut out spam.
Does this clarify what I’m trying to do?

OK, here’s an update on my issue. Hopefully someone will find it useful.
If you run Regenerate Thumbnails and you also have a watermarking plugin running at the same time, any transparent areas of your watermark plugin’s .PNG file will be ‘flattened’ as if in Photoshop, rendering them 100% opaque. My images disappeared as I had a large area of transparency that became white. This process is not reversible…
So it’s imperative that you disable any plugins related to watermarking before running Regen Thumbnails….
Plugin not working any more. I just get the same [Error occured at line 774] as everyone else. Another hour of my life wasted….
Actually, just figured this out! The ‘post count’ number in the slideshow overview page isn’t updating to show some removed slides, can’t think why.
Number of slides displaying is actually correct. Great plugin, like the fact that it loads quickly and works on iPhone / iPad.
