    You didn’t understand.

inline !important takes precedence over style.css !important

All styles in Your plugin are inline !important or at least most of them so I can’t override them using style.css at all. Colors are easy, as there is back-end settings page for that, but for example box-shadow over tooltip is inline !important and there’s no interface to change it.

    Any ideas?

I was refering to Tooltipy description:

    NEW FEATURES:
v3.0 keywords appear anywhere on your site not only on the post content, on heders footers and even in widgets

Anyway I’m very positively surprised with Your gesture – decision to make Tooltipy completely free. You’ve got my respect Jamel.

If I may suggest one important thing for Your future plugins that You might decide to split into free and paid versions: Try not to lock core features behind paywall. It only creates defensive reaction in potential customers, when they realize that free version they just installed is more like a tech demo without live site usefulness. Instead You might lock heavy visual customizations that go beyond changing CSS parameters, like rearranging position of certain elements, premade templates, etc.

This way, instead of defensive reaction or simply forgetting about Your plugin right after testing it, You’ll get the “Wow, it works great. I think I’ll buy PRO to use that beautifull template.”

Just a suggestion though. Best of luck to You 🙂

As the very minimum for free version, there should be a “limit tooltips to post/page content” button somewhere.

    I meant:
    – Single Post / Single Page,
    – Only inside post/page content (actual text).
It’s the most basic and common usecase after all. Couldn’t edit my post second time so I’m adding this for the sake of clarity.

But that makes the free version beyond useless.

Tooltips in sidebar widgets, tooltips in footer menu, tooltips in tag cloud overlaying tags themselves, etc. Exluding a page or post changes nothing in this regard, as all parts of website mentioned above are still infected with tooltip clutter – and that’s with just few keywords created. I’m scared to see what would happen with 100+ scientific definitions created which is my initial goal for academic blog I’m creating.

You mention “tooltips appear everywhere” as a new feature, while in fact it’s an anti-feature that makes sure no free version user will ever be able to make use of Your plugin.

As the very minimum for free version, there should be a “limit tooltips to post/page content” button somewhere.

Sorry to say but I’m beyond disappointed. Looks like it’s back to CM or Codeat for me. Even more sad, because Your plugin had one feature that stand up from the crowd in a very positive way – list of tooltips used on current page/post in form of widget.
