It appears even odder than that.. Works fine with Firefox 7 on win7, but broken as above with Firefox 7 on XP. Works fine with IE7 on XP, will check IE9 & Chrome on win7 later. Ha, works with Firefox 3.6 on win2000! But fails on the same PC with IE6. Just wandered around work checking on PC’s I have access to.

In reply to: Sidebar not working in IE8, php or css code problemTo be fair, I still get all those errors even with the unmodified theme. So I doubt I will be able to get rid of them unless I change the theme completely.
Thanks anyway, I didn’t know about the validators.

In reply to: Sidebar not working in IE8, php or css code problemOk, I managed to fix my original error by removing an unnecessary
in the php file. It is now working in IE8.
But I re-checked the site with the w3 code validators and I still have most of the errors, unfortunately I have no idea how to fix them. Or where to even look for ‘line 172, Column 24’ or the rest.
Any help to bring the errors down would be appreciated.

In reply to: Getting ‘Missing a temporary folder.’ message uploading imagedpapa, you’re a genius. I had to pay supanames £10 to setup a wordpress account last time, and then I still had to wait a month for them to fix it. That one paragraph just saved me time and money, fixed in seconds! Still had to create an uploads folder in wp-content, and give both uploads and tmp write access, but at least I started to get more meaningful error messages. 🙂

In reply to: Media attachment is not a hot linkJust worked it out. There are some options that were filled in for you in 2.6 but not in 2.7. You have to click ‘file URL’ before insert into post, then it will work.
Not a bug, just me being dumb, don’t worry.
Had to click ‘file URL’ before insert into post.

In reply to: Media attachment is not a hot linkPlease, does anyone else have this problem? Or is it a setup issue that I’m having?

In reply to: Media attachment is not a hot linkI’m getting exactly the same error. In WP 2.6 if I uploaded a file it would link to it in the post, but after installing 2.7 it just displays the title as text. This occurs after selecting ‘Insert into post’ in the add media dialogue.
The file is uploaded into the media gallery ok, and I can download the file again if I click view. So it’s uploaded ok, but just not providing a link. Images work fine, and put the image in the post as it should do.
Does it work properly for anyone? Or is this a bug with 2.7

In reply to: How do I remove the ‘Closed’ text from a post header? Thanks Figaro, that worked a treat. Oh, and thanks for the info on what else I need to get rid of. Hopefully I will be able to use that command for the rest of it. But at least I know where to look now…
