In reply to: Can't get any plugins or themes to installunfortunately it doesn’t seem to be working. I did exactly what you, called it *just* .htaccess and added the line just as you wrote it. And I got this series of gobbledigook for my admin page:
http://www.bwillettcomics.com/newstuff/wp-admin/
I then tried to remove the space between x-mapp-php5 .php just to see if I did anything wrong and the site didn’t like that at all and gave me a 500 internal error.

In reply to: Can't get any plugins or themes to installThanks for the link, but I’m sort of confused as to what kind of page to make, to get this to work. I created a file called wordpress . htaccess, but beyond putting that line you suggested into the file I don’t know what else I’m supposed to code.
I read through the tutorial and I know I don’t need an error page or redirection, so what kind do I need.
Do I need any other lines of code? I’m afraid coding is not my forte, hence why I’m running into loads of these problems.

In reply to: Can't get any plugins or themes to installI think I might have found my problem. There *is* no wordpress. htaccess
I looked through the backend of my site, viewed it via FTP and looked through the files I downloaded from WordPress for any .htaccess files. I made sure my computer was set to view all hidden files and nothing showed up. I then searched my computer for any and all .htaccess files and the only ones I found were from a backup of a b2evolution blog that I also run on my site. What do you think should be my next step?
