clarion, thanx but i meant that i deleted the files from the new wordpress installation folder – meaning that i left mine on the server

starting to follow your instrucitons – i downloaded a new wordpress installation ver 4.5.2
i deleted the wp-content folder & wp-config sample.php file
i am having some trouble with the .htaccess files you mentioned –
1. i thought i have to delete these files from my wordpress installation directory but i cannot find such files there
2. i then tried finding those filed on my server via ftp and cannot locate any /htaccess files, the display hiddent files option is enabled
pls advice – where excatly are those files and what should i do when i find them?
