The space is being caused because something – not Soliloquy – is adding in a paragraph and code tag.
Please check how you are adding the shortcode into your Page. This will be the fault.

If you are asking if you can link each individual gallery image to any URL (whether that be a WordPress Page, Post, CPT or external URL), then yes.

You’re welcome to use third party plugins that can replace images with 2x or 3x versions as necessary.
