  • glassofshutup: In what way is it slow? Is the page slow to load (i.e. for anything to show up) or does the page load, but it takes while waiting for the images to appear?

As a first test I’d double check your settings for the accounts and make sure the right one is selected. If it attempts to get your status and doesn’t get a sensible response it tries a different server (up to 3). If none of these return anything sensible it will not cache the result so will keep polling them each time the page is loaded.

It could also be that the setup of your server is preventing the connection required to check the online status. It needs cURL or fopen support (ask your host!)

Anyway, have a look and if you get no further I’ll see what I can figure out.

Kaspars Dambis has modified the previous version of AdSense Manager to include support for rounded corners: you can download his version from his site at konstruktors.com.

The next version of AdSense Manager will also support them so you can upgrade without problems.

erissiva: Can you point me at your page and I’ll have a look at what is going on. Thanks.

cilla18: Thanks for letting me know about the error in the instructions. I’ll fix that up for you. New version of AdSenseManager should be coming in the next couple of weeks too!

    Thanks again.

usearchme: I’ll have a look but I’m a bit confused to be honest 🙁 Not something I’ve seen before.

There is nothing unusual about the adsense-manager.php file is there (e.g. permissions or anything else?) it seems to be the problem is actually opening the file rather than anything else.

Also check you only have one version installed. Let me know if that helps!

brianchow: Currently there isn’t any way to do this with AdSense Manager or with Google code – the only option is to show the blank space of a given colour.

I can code this into the next release (probably aiming for v3.0 with the changes that are coming) but there is the not-obvious problem of deciding which ads to show if there is a limit.

While it’s easy to look at a page and think “well get rid of the sidebar ads first” or “show fewer ads in posts” the problem is that AdSense Manager has no knowledge of what order the page is being output in – if the theme throws out the sidebars first the ads there will be prioritise, if the sidebars come out last only the ads in the posts will show up.

If that would still be better than nothing let me know & I’ll throw the option in for you.

HandySolo: This isn’t AdSense Manager, it looks like some other plugin. Can you remove the tag? Thanks.

brownbogey: If you were getting error messages download the latest version (2.5) which has a few bugfixes in it. Some people were reporting errors with the earlier version.

NB: If you already have 2.5 installed, download it again anyway – there was a bit of a mix up with the version numbering.

    Thanks for the feedback.

In reply to: How do you customize?

Just to confirm, you can switch off the Be Nice bit by entering 0 in the blue box on Options/AdSense Manager.

It’s also worth downloading the latest version if you haven’t already for a number of bugfixes, etc.

decarn: Try downloading the latest version of AdSense Manager and seeing if you still get the errors. When there are no ads available you should see a blank space (if it doesn’t work try changing the alternate ad settings in the plugin).

    Thanks for the feedback.

Can you download the latest version (2.5, if you’re version already says 2.5 download anyway, there was a mix up in the version numbering)? I’ve tested it here with the latest version of WordPress and I don’t get the errors you’re seeing.

If you still do, let me know and I’ll have a think.

Hi guys I am looking into this at the moment and will be posting an updated version hopefully in the next few days. Let know if you spot any more errors and I’ll see what I can do.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Martin

You’d be suprised how many times I was caught out like this while developing the plugin. I hate to think how many hours I wasted bugfixing invisible bugs 😉

Can you try with the latest version (2.5) just updated it and it currently works on my local install. If you’re using the latest version of WordPress and still having the problem let me know and I’ll see what’s going on.

    Thanks
