    @rajibstsc76

    Thank you for helping, it’s much appreciated. Before I change anything, I’m unsure how to do this without taking my website or email offline. I’ve been on Cloudflare AI support and while I haven’t been able to get true support yet, their AI bot has been somewhat helpful. It turns out that Cloudflare is not “really” who is hosting my website. They can’t see who is.

    My public A-record lookup returns 104.21.72.75 and 172.67.176.100, which are Cloudflare addresses—not the actual hosting server. My email MX records point to Google Workspace.

    I don’t have access to the developer’s Cloudflare or hosting accounts, and I don’t know the original website DNS records. Wouldn’t I need those records before switching to Namecheap BasicDNS?

    My SPF record includes 199.250.201.164 and 68.66.220.30. Could those help identify the hosting provider?

    I’m going to post in the Cloudflare forum as it doesn’t seem I have access to support. Only the AI bot. But if you have any other suggestions, I’m all ears. Thanks.

    @candraoc i’ve penned another email to my developer/host and I’m going to wait till next week to send it. I think I’ve sent 4 emails over 2 weeks. So I’ll wait till next week and see if she replies. I was going to reach out to Cloudflare support and see if they could help. I won’t transfer anything. But if Cloudflare could figure out how to allow me access, that would solve everything I think.

    @sunchongzhou2026 thank you. I just went to the mxtoolbox and took a screenshot of the MX records, but couldn’t figure out how to upload a screenshot.

    It shows Google Apps/Google Workspace as my email provider. My nameservers point to Cloudflare, but of course I don’t have access to the Cloudflare account. So I think the next step is to reach out to Cloudflare support like you requested. I’ll try that next.

    @mbigul Thank you! Ok so I just checked Namecheap and it says the nameserver is a Custom DNS and it points to 2 Cloudflare names- a person’s name.ns.cloudflare.com

    I went to the Advanced DNS and it said Personal DNS Server was a standard nameserver.

    So it definitely looks like Cloudflare. Do you think I could contact them and attempt to regain access that way?

    Or this is what it says under Host-You can manage host records in your cPanel account, or transfer DNS back to Namecheap BasicDNS to manage the records here. Change DNS Type

    So maybe I could change it back?

    Bigul I’m not very tech savvy, so I believe I’m correct when I say this. My website developer is also taking care of hosting. I pay her monthly to host, update my plugins and do security. I’m unsure who the actual host is-if she uses something like Cloudflare. Is there a way to check who the developer is using for hosting so I can go that way? Thanks.

    Thanks Candra. I unfortunately don’t have access to the plugins. The developer is the one that is hosting my site, updating plugins, etc. So she controls everything. I’ve been trying to reach her for the past few weeks to no avail. It’s been this was for 4 years or so without an issue. But now I see how this is not great.
