hi, thanks again, with confirmation that it was a CSS matter i did some playing around and discovered that setting the img display to block removed the offending white space. hopefully this will help someone, thanks for your assistance!

However, my styles specify 0px margin / padding and there is no specified height.
With no styles applied, I assume there must be some default setting for post div height, taking the content size and adding 5px?
