Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Problems installing when site already has content?Well, I have yet another site that I’m going to try installing WP on, it’s an old site that I don’t really use for anything and it doesn’t have much content, I thought it would be good to use as a “test” site, so I’ll play with WP over there and see how it goes.
I was thinking that the content really shouldn’t affect whether WP installs well or not, but it was the only difference that I was able to notice betwen the two installs. Someone more tech-savvy might be able to find more differences, but I’ll go play and see what I can find out.
Thanks though! 🙂

In reply to: Plugin or javascript? Thanks Kafka and Viper, I will look at those links.
No, I know nothing about php at all, really, only the very little bit that I’ve figured out from modifying my site layout/theme, but I definitely should learn more.
Thanks! 🙂

In reply to: No plugins can be activatedWell, personally, I’ve got two websites, both with the same host and on the same server. I got WP working absolutely fine, no problems with plugins activating, on my personal blogsite. So I decided to use WP on my other site, too, and that’s the site that I can’t get the plugins to activate for.
So why I’m having an issue with the second website is what I can’t figure out.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: All of a sudden, font issues.Ha, I don’t believe it, I just fixed it. Wow, talk about overthinking it. :::headdesk:::
All I had to do was go to View > Text Size (on the IE toolbar), and choose Medium instead of Smallest. Why it was set that way I have no idea, but there we are, it’s back to looking the way it’s supposed to now.
Ah well, it’s resolved! Thanks everyone.

In reply to: All of a sudden, font issues.Aaargh. It went from teeny tiny to absolutely gigantic when I tried that ctrl key+ scroll mouse wheel, LOL.
The site looks the way it’s supposed to in Firefox, and it looked fine in IE, too, until just the other day. I don’t know what caused it to go wonky all of a sudden. I haven’t changed the theme or anything recently, so really, there’s no reason why it should have gone weird just out of the blue like that….that I know of, anyway.

Anyone?I thought I saw something about this problem but can’t find the post now….maybe I was imagining it. Maybe I need to change something in my style sheet? I’m using em on my font sizes, maybe px would work better?
Kind of weird how it’s not really affecting the font in the posts, though. Hm.

In reply to: No plugins can be activatedI’ve had the same issue, myself, hasn’t been resolved yet. I’ve read through the archives and it seems as though everyone that has had this problem has had a diferent resolution. If you get it figured out, could you post it here? Hope it gets fixed.

In reply to: All of a sudden, font issues.I don’t think it’s been happening for a while, I’m on my site pretty much daily and use AOL 99% of the time, and it always looked fine up until yesterday.
Haven’t installed any plugins recently…the ones that I have installed have been there since before I put up this layout/theme. I’ve got Spam Karma, Bad Behavior, and the Contact Form up and activated, and that’s it.

In reply to: Server wont acknowledge this guyThe only thing I can help with is the index.php page, thingy, I think. I had tech support at my site host help me.
Go into your control panel and go into Web Services, then PHP. Then under Settings, Look for Indexes, and click Enabled, then submit. I *think* that’s all you have to do for that. Not sure how to help with the rest.

In reply to: Can’t login all of a sudden — loops back to login page. No, but why is there that bit about the redirect in there? Seems like that’s the problem, to me, that should come out of there.

In reply to: Spam Karma 2 Just Started Acting UpHope it helps, at least until you get the SK2 problem figured out. 🙂

In reply to: Spam Karma 2 Just Started Acting UpHave you tried the Bad Behavior plugin? That one was recommended to me, I have that one and SK2 both.
I haven’t had any problems – that I’m aware of, but I’m a new blog so I don’t anticipate a lot of comments at the moment.
