Ok, I found this http://wordpress.org/support/topic/59502?replies=3 and apparently this problem may very well have to do with your permalink setting. I had *just* changed mine today, and sure enough, I chaged the setting back to default, and lo and behold I can see my newly created pages now.
However, there has got to be a way around this problem, b/c I’d definitely like to not be using the default permalink structure!
