Does anyone know how to get support from WordPress for a serious problem? This is starting to become absurd. I need to talk to someone who can help . But I cannot find a phone number or an email address. There is something very seriously wrong with my wordpress and I am getting no support here. Is there a moderator? Hello? This is my business site and I have put in weeks of labor on this and I am losing money as a result of this not working. And what I am I getting in the form of support? NADA. oh sorry, I did get a couple short responses from EMSi but she has not responded in days. I even emailed her but got no response. NOTHING. This is my business and I am losing $.

I need some help here WordPress people. Moderator? Why the silence? I need help!

Simon- I wish that was it but http://exploresf.biz redirects to the longer url. That is as good a guess as I’ve come up with…

I contacted my host, who suggested that it was a permalink issue and advised me to change all the links again. I tried that again to no avail.

EMSi- I took your advice and installed a fresh WP and pointed it at a new database.

I did some reading here about importing a blog to a new blog and thought it was worth a try. I am hoping to eventually keep the same URL for the blog but for the time being I have the old blog:

    at http://exploresf.biz/blog
and the new one is at
    http://exploresf.biz/sfblog

After pointing WP at the new database:
I imported the posts from the old blog into the new, it went smoothly and the posts actually opened.

So, I imported the pages and that went okay.

Thinking that maybe the new database is forcing a reset of the older settings, I attempted to import “all” of the blog.

    But got another 500 error
    tried again
    Got the same error.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

    Thank you

Yes I searched and it is not there. I didn’t change my links nor anything else, to the best of my memory when I started getting the “500 error”. It just seemed to happen randomly.

    Hi Simon,

Thanks for the response. I have found on this forum, several references to the .htaccess file. Here is one:

    Hi,
I was advised to change the file by adding .txt to at the end of the file. To force another one to be created?
Although a new one was apparently created it changed nothing and the posts wouldn’t load.
I didn’t edit the file in any way.
Thank you for taking a look. Might you have any advice?

I’ve installed WP but would you elaborate a little more please. I’ve only been working with WP for a couple months and this is all new for me. It’s asking me for the database info, etc. If I create a new database, will I be able somehow to connect it with the old database? Should i use the same log in info?
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Either, I did something incorrectly or that isn’t the fix. I’ll tell you exactly what I did:

I changed the .htaccess file back
I renamed my theme’s folder to “-old” using FTP
Using FTP I reset the plug-ins. (changing the folder to plug-ins-hold)
Downloaded a fresh copy of WordPress and uploaded all filed and folders except for content
At that point, the blog was gone and I was left with a white browser window
Wasn’t really sure what to do at that point, so I changed the name back on the Plug-ins folder and the theme folder
The blog then reappeared but I’m having the same problem as before, I can get to the home page but that’s it…
Thanks again for your help. Any advice what be most appreciated!

Thank you so much for the fast response and I truly appreciate your help. I did as you said and now when I attempt to log in this is what I get:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/46/8422146/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/social-connect-widget/socialConnect.php:21) in /home/content/46/8422146/html/blog/wp-login.php on line 349…
    Repeated again for lines 361,

    And then this:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/46/8422146/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/social-connect-widget/socialConnect.php:21) in /home/content/46/8422146/html/blog/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 669. Repeated for lines 670, 671, and 866.

Thanks again for any direction you can offer!
