The gallery has now started to work normally – no idea why?

Many thanks, this solved the problem. Apparently, the “global” command is overridden by the page command.

In desperation, I just tried the “fancy box” lightbox effect and the scroll arrows have returned.
Many thanks for your help.No lightbox settings are enabled: also tried custom without any arrows appearing.
Have also changed the theme from a custom theme to Astra – still no arrows.
Two days ago I had a local WordPress expert look at the problem and he suggested I contact you.
Really like the plugin but I may have to use another gallery if this one cannot be made to work.

uninstalling the plug in seems like a pretty serious option and I’m not sure about attempting this. would I be better of just waiting for the next update and hope this works?

Theme twenty fifteen was updated and activated. No scroll arrows were present on the images.Hi Mihai
Thank you for your reply; I have tried with the lightbox enabled and not enabled and also with all the other plugins deactivated. Still no arrows?
Do you have any other suggestions?
The problem occurred after a recent WP upgrade and none of my galleries now have scroll arrows.
