PS: I found out the problem – there was already a set of .htaccess code from an old installation of wp to a different directory and that was confusing the new installation.
I deleted that and now it works.

I read in another post it could be the htaccess file, but it didn’t give a solution.
Maybe it’s permissions?
Does WP have any instructions for this problem?
