That solved the problem.
I emptied the “Allowed writable directories” field, saved the settings, and now I can save translations normally.
It seems the restriction is causing the problem on my WordPress.com site.

Yes, it was working before.
The last successful translation I saved was on May 22 .
After that, Loco Translate was updated about two or three times.
The problem started only about 5 days ago . Since then I cannot save any translation (themes or plugins), and every save attempt shows:
“File modification disallowed by the plugin settings.”
This issue did not exist before the recent updates.
I have attached a screenshot of the current debug information showing that:
File mods disallowed: No
File mod safety level: Warn

I am using Loco Translate 2.8.7 on a WordPress.com Business site.
I have checked the settings:
File modification: Allow (with warning)
Allowed writable directories: wp-content
File mods disallowed: No
File mod safety level: Warn
However, every attempt to save any translation still fails with:
“File modification disallowed by the plugin settings.”
The problem occurs with all themes and plugins.
Is there anything else you would like me to check?
