In reply to: [User Menus - Nav Menu Visibility] First_name is not showing in menusHey @quaio61,
βThanks for reaching out. We’re sorry your
{first_name}variable isn’t displaying for some reason. We can’t reproduce the issue using the Twenty Twenty-One theme. See below.
First name in the menu: https://share.wppopupmaker.com/YEuB8OqE
Settings: https://share.wppopupmaker.com/BludpxXq
Can you try temporarily switching to the Twenty Twenty-One theme with all plugins except for User Menus deactivated?
If that fixes the issue, then you probably have a theme or plugin conflict. You can follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue more https://gist.github.com/marklchaves/90f5af8d0ea08d6e54254f2afb1109df
If it’s not a theme or plugin conflict, can you reach out to us via our contact form so we can have a closer look?

Hey @myenglishimages,
That’s a great question.
Here’s the best and most accurate answer. Can you please have a read and let us know if you have any more questions?

Thanks so much π
Hello @engrrajonahmed,
When you move a restriction to the trash, can you make sure you click the Save Changes button? See the screen capture below.
https://share.wppopupmaker.com/mXuJEpYe
You should see the “Settings updated.” message afterward.
Let us know how that goes.
Cheers!
Hey @adelcb,
We didn’t see Popup Maker running on your page https://vintagepalacestore.com/
Can you tell us if you are still using Popup Maker? If so:
1) Please give us the link to the page that has the popup.
2) The steps you take to get the popup to display.
We need to see the border issue you’re describing to figure out why the known solutions aren’t working for you.
Thanks so much!
Hey @artildo,
βThanks for reaching out. We’re sorry you can’t edit your restrictions.
There 3 things we should try to rule out right away:
1) Please check that your max_input_vars is set to 3,000 or more. You can verify that in Tools > Site Health > Info > Server. If it’s lower than 3,000, please ask your hosting provider to increase it to 3,000.
2) When you try to update a restriction, make sure your browser console is open. Look to see if there are errors in the console. If there are, you can go through the standard WordPress plugin and theme troubleshooting process. Learn more here https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/332-test-whether-a-plugin-or-theme-interferes-with-popup-maker
3) If you’re running WPML on your site, try to deactivate and reactivate WPML.
If you’re still seeing the issue after trying those 3 things, please submit a help request via our contact form.

Cheers!
Hey @qmayqui,
Thanks so much for your question.
As you probably guessed, the Content Control plugin only affects front-end content.
So, you’d need to find another plugin or custom solution to help you restrict access on the back end.
Sorry for the not-so-great news.
Have a Happy New Year π
Hey @eclev91,
βThanks for reaching out. We checked out the Bedrock page you pointed us to.
We see that they rename the WordPress
wp-content/directory toapp/.We think the issue you’re seeing is related to this open item.
https://github.com/PopupMaker/Popup-Maker/issues/944
If that’s the case, you can override Popup Maker’s CSS with your own local CSS copy to fix that.
Here are the instructions.
https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/311-find-the-popup-maker-core-and-popup-theme-css
Once you have your own local copy, you can do a global replace on that
wp-content/directory.We hope that makes sense. If anything’s not clear or that doesn’t work, please submit a help request using the link below.

Hey @cikorka,
We’re not able to reproduce what you’re seeing.
If you watch this short screencast, you’ll see that we can set our User Menus Logout menu item to redirect to our Woo Shop page.
https://share.wppopupmaker.com/o0uZpD16
Would you mind trying the following?
1) Deactivate all of your plugins except for User Menus.
2) Change your Logout menu item to redirect to another custom URL like your About or Contact page for example.
3) Retest. If that works OK, reactivate WooCommerce and change the logout redirect to your Shop page (or another Woo page).
4) Retest with your Woo page redirect.
If you’re still seeing the issue, please submit a help request using this link.
Hey @mad2kx,
Sorry for jumping in so late. I also want to reply for future reference.
I am inserting #popmake-1234 (class of popup) into the Divi Builder as βlinkβ.
First,
#popmake-1234is not a CSS class because it starts with a “#”. CSS classes begin with a “.”.This however doe snot trigger the popup, it just adds the link into URL, example domain.com/#popmake-1234 but popup remains closed.
Second, you are correct. Adding
#popmake-1234to the link URL will not launch the popup. So, if you want to launch a popup that has popup ID 1234, then all you need to do is add
popmake-1234to your button’s CSS class setting. Here’s an example of what that would look like in the code.
https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/545-a-beginners-guide-to-popup-triggers#classic-editor
For Divi, you can add
popmake-1234into the button’s Advanced Options. Note: there’s no hash sign or period before the classname. That’s important.See the Button Advanced Options section in this doc https://www.elegantthemes.com/documentation/divi/button/
(Direct link for Chrome: https://www.elegantthemes.com/documentation/divi/button/#:~:text=Button%20Advanced%20Options,style.css%20file.)
If you haven’t yet, please visit our full Beginner’s Guide to Popup Triggers.

I hope that helps. Shout if you have any more questions.
Have a wonderful New Year!

Hi @susanhsun,
Thanks so much for the follow-up.
We recommended earlier that you ask your hosting provider to increase your
max_input_varsto about 3,000 to 4,000. So yes. 1,000 (as mentioned in the video also) is too low. That’s great you found a workaround π However, having a low
max_input_varssetting will limit all plugins and WordPress settings (not just Content Control settings). So, you’ll need to increase your limit sooner or later. As we say in the video, we’ve seen plugins and themes recommend at least 2,500 upwards to 4,000. Again, 1,000 is too low these days. For your workaround, if you only have a few restrictions (say less than 10), the performance impact should be negligible. If you have 10 or more, you should run some performance tests to gauge how more than 10 restrictions affect your site.
We hope that helps.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Have a great day π

Hey @susanhsun,
Thanks for reaching out. We’re sorry you can’t add more than 2 conditions in the content tab.
We’ve seen this issue happen when a website’s
max_input_varsis set too low. Can you watch this video that shows you how to check that setting? If your
max_input_varsis too low, you’ll need to ask your hosting provider to increase it to 3,000 or 4,000. Always confirm that the increase is done before trying it again. If that doesn’t fix it, please send us a help request at the link below so we can take a closer look.

Cheers!
Hey @gastbrand ,
That’s a great question.
Yes, you can make your website visible only after log-in! For example, we’ve seen the Content Control plugin used as a coming soon plugin so that only admins and web developers can access the site.
To do that, you can create a restriction for all of your posts, pages, products, and custom post types.
Here’s an example (please read the description for each screen capture):
General settings: https://share.wppopupmaker.com/Wnuq4YKo
Protection settings: https://share.wppopupmaker.com/L1uWxd4g
Content settings: https://share.wppopupmaker.com/NQuxqwdq
Using these settings, the WordPress login page displays when anyone who’s not logged in tries to access any post or page on your site. So, it’s not necessary to make your homepage a login page (it’s better that way).
You still can make your homepage a login page, but you’d need a make a custom login page yourself or use another 3rd-party plugin to make one for you. We don’t recommend this because if your custom login page isn’t set up correctly, it causes a redirect loop (common error). Again, it’s better and more convenient to use the built-in WordPress login page.
We hope that helps.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Have a great day π

Hey @mikee1001 ,
Thanks so much for your question.
Since BuddyPress doesn’t use WordPress custom post types (CPT), the Content Control plugin won’t recognize BuddyPress pages or pages associated with BuddyPress. We’d need to build an integration using BuddyPress’s API (their code).
Sory for the not so great news.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Have a great day π
