Thanks Bob it works great now. I still think it would be cool to be able to explicitly specify whether a block shows or hides, but the line count is a definite improvement.

Unfortunately I seem to be having troubles with the new version however. At first when I updated it seemed to crash my WP site, so I manually removed the easycode folder and tried to readd the plugin. Now I see this error:
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/kuenzim/incrementalevolution.com/html/wp-content/plugins/easycode/class.php on line 58

That will work for now. It would be nice to be able to have some expanded by default and some collapsed by default. I can just use another plugin for the expanded ones for now since they are just short snippets.
