Okay. I could not figure out how to rectify the situation, so I ended up wiping everything using the WP Reset plugin, then re-activating my theme and re-importing my data fresh. It took more than one attempt at import and I had to fix a few formatting issues manually in the Editor, but it now looks the way I want it to.

    Thank you!

Thank you for looking at it. Do you mean that you can’t see it on the front end, but can on the back end? That’s what I’m experiencing too. My other pages are displaying the header and footer correctly, as far as I can see, but not the home page.
I tried disabling all plugins and it did not change. I am using SiteGround for hosting — someone above mentioned clearing caches, but I am not sure how to do that.
If the theme is the issue (outdated or something), but I don’t want the appearance of the pages to change, can I use a different theme and just copy over the coding for the pages? Or will it change things too much? My knowledge of CSS is rudimentary and from many years ago, unfortunately.
    TIA!

Hi there! I have deactivated maintenance mode, so it should now be visible.
I do not know how to check for or clear a cache. I’m using the Startorg theme, which is what I was using on my WordPress.com site. I’m not sure how changing it would affect the appearance of my web site. I do not want the appearance to change!
