Actually, I was using a supposed “premium” theme at the time. It had a number of bugs throughout the site, so I simply started from scratch with my own new theme and all related bugs were fixed.

I added the WP Better Security plugin after this was happening, as an attempted fix (it is inactive). I did actually delete the .htaccess file earlier, and it is still doing it.
Thank you for your response, but I didn’t have that plugin installed. I am still having this issue however, and can’t find a solution for it anywhere.
What do you guys mean by “system tweaks”? I have this problem on a new site and can’t for the life of me figure it out.
Also, I’m using v3.5.
