In reply to: jetpack_sync_cronThe link you gave doesn’t work
Thank you Petra. I sent it to you. I’m very grateful. OUTSTANDING product!!!
Petra.
I tried both of your suggestions in Chrome and neither worked. I did get the product to show up in Internet Explorer.
I am using the Coraline theme
I normally use Chrome.
Like I wrote, the extension and reloading it did not change anything.
I am now getting an error message when I open a post in WP on my site in Explorer that reads the following:
“Deprecated TinyMCE API call: <target> .onNodeChange.add(..)”
I tried to deactivate a couple of plugins that I thought might be causing it after googling this error message, but it didn’t work.
I’d be more than willing to give you access to the site – via an off-line conversation and not here in a public forum – obviously – for you to see what might be causing both issues… Let me know. Thanks…
Oh, and by the way, the exact date that it stopped working was 4/30/15. I don’t know if that means anything or not…

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageI have also responded to you several times that setting it to latest posts didn’t change anything.
The only advice I’ve gotten to this point has been to change it to latest posts. I’ve explained SEVERAL times that I tried that and it didn’t work. When it was on HOME, there wasn’t a problem for years until the switch was made to 4.0. The install of 4.0 changed something and has thrown the entire thing off.
I tried disabling all the plug ins to see if that was where the problem was coming from. Nope. Changed nothing. I’ve tried every configuration of the reading option and nothing has changed it. 4.0 changed something in the site and I have no idea what it is and so far, I’ve gotten nothing from either of you to try and fix this.

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pagelet’s be clear about something…I’m not an IT guy. I’m not a web developer. I barely know anything at all. All I DO know is that I loaded WP’s update and it messed up my entire site. It’s looking more and more like I’m going to have to pay someone to fix this because I’m not even getting suggestions of things to try. I’ve answered every question you’ve posed as clearly as I can with the knowledge that I have. Under the settings-Reading I have it set to a static page that says HOME.
The way that I had it prior was when the website was working. Right now I think going backwards would do nothing but mess it up even more. I have a BOATLOAD of people pissed off at me because the site is down/not working properly and I did nothing wrong. All I did do was load an update that WP said was necessary. On top of that, there’s no real tech support or someone that stands behind it to fix it. I feel like I’m spinning my wheels and I’m getting pretty angry about it. This isn’t right. I don’t even have a clue anymore what to do. I’ve tried everything and there’s nothing out there on Google that deals with this because 4.0 is too new. Frustrating is the biggest understatement I can think of.
Do you have hard suggestions… Is there something that can be done rather than this tap dance going back and forth? My guess is probably not…and THAT is adding to this frustration.

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageWhat setting? If you’re referring to the static page, it was set to home. I tried to change the theme back o the way that I had it prior.
All I can say at this point is I’m REALLY pissed off that WP put out an update that they encouraged people to use that changes things like this… I’m feeling more and more that I’m going to have to try a backup and rebuild the site from scratch and that pisses me off because it takes a lot of time that I just don’t have.

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageI did what you suggested and now the entire site has completely gone to hell… Before it looked fine except the posts were missing…now the entire site is messed up…

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageI can get into anything on the server, I just need to be walked through what to do, step by step…
Also, if I delete that page as you mentioned, and i’m not sure I can, but I’ll look at it…could that also delete the other home page that WAS working before the problem occurred?

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageThe front page displays didn’t help.
I don’t know about front-page.php
I would assume that’s on the host server. I suppose I can search for it. What do I do if I find it there?

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageOkay…here’s the best I know how to describe it.
I originally was using the Coraline theme and the last edition of WordPress. I got a notification that I switch it to 4.0. I did that and suddenly all of my posts were gone. I then did some reading and someone suggested switching to Twenty-Fourteen that that would cure the issue. So now I’m using the 2014 theme.
The frame around the outside of the page is still showing what it is supposed to be showing, so when you go to http://www.howlings.net the frame is 100% correct. However, where the blog entries were supposed to come up, what’s in it is something that just says, “HOME” and has the links on it. What is missing, and what USED to show were all of my blog entries. When I started looking into fixing this, if I used /home, it would show all the blog entries. Now it’s just redirecting back at the “bad page.” The one that just says home.
If you go to the individual pages one at a time, like this one, Those will work. Somehow the connection between the two pages is gone and I don’t know where to go to re-establish the correct connection.

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageFirst off, I’m pretty on edge about this. The snide comment was totally unnecessary and condescending.
When I originally posted this, the look on the /home was showing the page as it was supposed to be. Now, for some reason, it’s pushing it back to the broken page. I was unaware of that until you mentioned it.
For some reason now the original /home is now been removed and replaced by the altered page that’s completely wrong. It doesn’t show any of my postings.
However, if you follow a link from one of my stories, it shows that story… I’m SO confused about what is going on. WP urged the update and I did it and now it doesn’t work and I’m not computer savvy enough to fix this on my own and I’m not even getting real suggestions for help either… I’m pretty stressed out about this.

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageI did that. It didn’t work. I had the setting to static front page and HOME as the setting previously…

In reply to: WordPress 4.0 Changed my front pageYes… That hasn’t changed…
To make it easier to understand… go to http://www.howlings.net and then go to http://www.howlings.net/home.
What it looks like to me is that somehow the home file, which is what shows when you go to the former looks like, got changed from what it’s supposed to be, the latter.
How to correct that I don’t know.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Can't get it to work anymoreThe feedback you guys sent to me about what needed to be corrected was done by the hosting company and everything works now…
Thank you.
