I have the same problem. I’d bet money that your WP files are not in “wordpress” folder inside the site. It seems that’s the cause – a path issue.
I am having the same problem, which is path related. As long as the fresh install is in a wordpress folder inside the domain, the TinyMCE error goes away. What do we do for those of us who install in the root of a domain, or in a sub folder?
I just wanted to say thanks for pointing out the obvious with the mail config in php.ini! We just installed a new IIS 6 test server with PHP 5 and upgraded our MYSQL and in the midst of all the fun and games, I forgot the mail server settings! I’ve been chasing this thing around all afternoon!
