Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Creating my own ThemeGodsgirl I know exactly what you mean. I find it extremely confusing too. Ive stopped trying to read those pages because unless your a coder, it doesn’t seem to be working. I have actually chosen two themes I like, and tried editing the CSS files and changing the images to make it closer to what I actually want. Its still not like I would like it to be because its all coded but I am working on it little by little. You can try it too see what happens…

In reply to: Creating my own Theme“does anyone know of a WordPress themes for dummies style approach to how to create your own theme?” I believe that was the actual question but you would probably miss it if you have a reading disability.

In reply to: Including the Author’s name. You dont need to respond if your gonna come with your disrespect. Reading Disability???? Not because you have experience with the application means that everyone will find it easy. I have no HTML experience, no PHP experience and I never used wordpress or any type of theme before. So there is no denying it will be confusing for me. Im trying to do my own thing and ask for help in the forum. moderator or not, keep your advice and let those who really want to help respond in the forums since you have an attitude problem.

In reply to: Including the Author’s name.Man this stuff can get confusing. Ive read those threads, and I think Ive done the right thing in creating the profile.php page and saving it in the my themes folder. Now I think the next step is linking the names of the authors to the profile page or template that will list everything about that author. But I cant seem to find the tag that creates that link…

In reply to: Show PostsOh Yeah Moshu. Im new to this so I wasnt even thinking about that. It was actually my fault. I had set up some administrative accounts and some user accounts. It just so happened that that the user accounts I was using to write and publish posts was listed under “subscriber”. Subscribers cant post so even after I had written and pressed published, it saved it as a draft. However Once I changed the account to author I was able to publish. Thanks.

In reply to: Including the Author’s name. Thanks guys. One more question. Is there anyway users can see each other’s profiles? Lets say someone writes a post and the
name shows up on the home page. How can I make the names a link to their profiles?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Show PostsYes I know I clicked published them from the author accounts too. As a matter of fact I did it more than once. User level for authors is two and I have the option to write and publish posts enabled for authors.

In reply to: Show PostsActually, the posts that show were written from an administrator’s account. The ones written by regular author accounts do not show at all.

In reply to: Including the Author’s name.I did read all those posts, but I am still unclear. Where do i go to edit the loop? Is that an option in my wordpress administration options? If so where? Or do i have to actually download pages from my server to put it in?
