@gingeds I have made a back up from the server. All of the advice for fixing the problem seems to require accessing the site through the wp-admin log in… Is there another way to get to the site control panel?
@whitsey I have tried renaming the plugin directory via the server but it didn’t;t seem to make any difference.

Is the best course of action to delete the site from the server and start again?
