I’m having the same problem. I just installed wordpress on a yahoo! hosted site, and while the control panel and front page of the blog work, that’s pretty much it. Anything linking off of the front page goes directly to a 410 error.
The guide that MichaelH posted worked to create a user for the database. I was able to install wordpress. However, after installation, when I went to view the blog, the only thing that worked was the homepage. Anything going off of the homepage gave me a 410 error, such as is documented in this post.
It’s like yahoo is punishing me for attempting to install wordpress. Ugggh.
