I have the same issue with the plugin. The auto SKU Generation stops at 1%. What is even more interesting to note is that each time I close the auto-generation after it hangs and save the settings once again and generate SKU overwriting the previous SKUs, the number of products SKU generated increases by 1.
Currently deactivating and going to look for alternatives. Such a nice handy feature. Wish you solve it soon.
