I see the search field neither in the menu nor in the footer. I suppose you turned it off again cause it wasn’t working. It doesn’t let me debug it. Thanks for reaching out, and thanks for trying out Kale. We appreciate it. I am happy to help.
Regarding the fault with a search bar: please double check if you have turned it on properly. Please go to: „Appearance > Customize > General Settings” and toggle on the setting „Search Icon in Main Nav”.
To enhance your new images, please install/activate this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ and then go to Tools > Regen. Thumbnails to resize all thumbnails so they are the optimum size for this theme.
