I called my ISP’s support. The person moved my theme to a different directory. Then I could logon as Admin, bring in a new copy of the theme, and activate it. I still had the content, but had to re-apply my GOOD changes.
Fixed.

Thanks, my site does not yet let me have FTP (I need to pay to upgrade). My simplest fix would be to rollback the change – or, as you say, re-edit in a text editor.
