In reply to: [Simple Social Icons] Social icons are missingHi wonder if someone can help, I am having the same sort of issue. I cannot see my icons on my homepage in chrome, but I can in safari. I use chrome most often as do alot of my readers. I am very limited in coding, but I know I have made some colour adjustmnents in the child theme.
Can anyone please give me (an idiots) guide to fixing this? I have read alot of threads where people have the same issue and its been resolved, but I admit I don’t understand how to apply to my site.
thanks
Michelle

In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegFrom my limited knowledge I dont see it pointing anywhere.
When I go to the “vie website” button on my control panel I am directed to http://94.136.40.103/~lostinfood.co.uk/wp-login.php
From here I try and login, but with absolutely no luck. I have tried every possible combination I have of usernames and passwords ( i have them all written down at the moment!) but no luck. Then when I try and request new password, it wont recognise any usernames that I have used.
Looks like i have managed to mess everything up!

In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegAh see this could be my issue. I am not really sure.
In my control panel for 123reg I have the domain listed as lostinfood.co.uk
From here I do have options to control and it is through these options that I selected wordpress in the CGI scripts.

In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegThanks – I’m not sure if I am explaining myself correctly. I did as asked above and get the login but once that is done I am still taken to my dashboard that I was previously using with wordpress.com in the address.
This dashboard does not give me a menu for adding a plugin.
I have to say I have read alot of information on moving from .com to .org for wordpress and its baffling to me….so I think I may be way out of my depth.

In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegHi thanks
I’ve logged out of everything to start a fresh browser. Now when I go to lostinfood.co.uk/wp-login I get an “page cant be found’ error ( but the site looks like my wordpress.com site) but when I go to lostinfood.co.uk/wp-admin I am back to my wprdpress.com site –
how can I disconnect the wordpress.com site?
thanks for all the help….I am slowly getting there!

In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegThe domain is lostinfood.co.uk
This could be part of the problem, when I installed wordpress it just brought up another screen and did not ask for any username and password. Has it possibly not installed correctly.
If I go to lostinfood.co.uk/wp-login I get directed to my wordpress.com dashboard

I cannot see any options for upgrading wordpress to the later version on reg123.
This may sound like a very stupid question but how do I login to my wordpress.org page to modify it with themes etc? I was able to do that quite easily on wordpress.com
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegOk thanks I will have a look for that upgrade option.
Do I need to change the name servers or alter any files once its installed to ensure that it points to my domain?
Thanks

In reply to: Using wordpress.org with 123RegHi thanks for replying
I have used Version V3.5.2 which is listed in my control panel under the heading CGI Scripts
I would like to be able to use wordpress for a food blog, which will consist of recipes, photos etc. Ideally I would use a plugin to add those recipes to allow readers and followers ease of printing etc.
Thanks
