In reply to: User moderation Word Press 1.5I’d use the ‘previously approved’ feature although I see this as becoming a headache with many users in the future.
I’m looking to satisify both control as well as simplicity; I would rather not moderate comments from users unless that user has done something to require moderation. I’d much rather moderate their inital user registration request one time (ie. setting them from 0 to 1), then allow them work at will.
Note that my web log will be religion-based which tends to spark a lot of controversy, and keeping the comments acceptable is absolutely necessary for the health of the forum.

In reply to: Moderating user registrations?Note: This particular instance is a tarball from the main site running on Redhat EL3 running Apache2, PHP4.3.2, and MySQL 3.
For kicks, I also installed this onto a Gentoo unstable machine through portage and get the same results so it’s not the tarball, nor the OS.

It’s not there. Thank you for the verification on your end. Yes, I’m on as admin (as you can see on the ‘Logout’ Site Admin button on the top right hand side of the screenshot.

In reply to: Moderating user registrations? There is no such setting in Options->Writing on WordPress 1.5 to my knowledge. Is there something wrong with my install or are we talking about an older version of Word Press?
