Thanks for your help.
I fixed my issue. The problem was, that I had a
add_filter( 'rewrite_rules_array', 'disable_embeds_rewrites' );
in my theme which will be executed, once the theme is loaded.

So your update just fired this action somehome and my issue appears.
Sorry, but this was no issue of your great plugin at all.
