In reply to: Fixing curl timeout WordPress 4.9.1fergbrain : in which file did you add this? my web host told me that the cURL timeout script is not something that needs to be adjusted by them server side but that I need to put it in the plugin’s files… in my case MainWP is the plugin experiencing issues synching and performing updates to multiple sites.
Thanks wfalaa! I will definitely go with your suggestion of having it on every WP installation, whether it’s domain or subdomain.
One more question: I am receiving emails about “problem being found on my website”. However, it is just an alert to tell me that a plugin is no longer up to date. I don’t mind that it scans for this.. BUT…I don’t want to receive an email every time a plugin like Yoast gets an update! Is there a way to specify in the email notifications that I don’t want to receive an email if it’s just a plugin that needs to be updated? (I have set my plugins to be updated automatically so getting this email notification from each of my website is cluttering my inbox).

I think I have similar question (or same) to PPNSteve.
In my case, my homepage shows ‘HOME | Mysite.com’ and I’d love to get rid of that HOME part. For other pages, i don’t mind it so much…but on the home its pretty ugly in Google or when posted as a link on Facebook.
How do we remove it from the homepage only so that it will only say the sitename for that page?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How do I restore the availability of a url for my post?Well, thing is I started writing my posts while Default was still on for permalinks. I changed it to Post Name afterward.
I had already deleted the post, as you suggested and re-created. Still wasnt working… i was getting the Redirect Loop error… even after removing the test posts permanently from the trash.
I solved the problem by going in the back end. I went into the DB and deleted all posts that were cfc and i was then able to write my new cfc post and publish without issues.
I was just thinking there must be an easier way then having to go toy in the DB. I will look at your plugin recommendation (thanks for that) but forward, once I’ve set my Permalinks structure, it is best to never change it again? I don’t want to find myself in this situation again!

Well, the reason I ask is because I succesfully created backups to Google Drive from my localhost yesterday (for all 5 sites), and the reason I posted here was because I didnt understand why I was able to do a restore only once. Thats why I asked for clarification – because its possible to do the backup (yes I confirmed by logging into my Google Drive), but it seems that the restore process is finicky, as it worked only once.
Are you saying that Google Drive cannot restore, backup, or do both when requesting from localhost?
I was hoping to use GoogleDrive as I can create my own subfolders but Im getting the dam authentication error 95% of the time so my question is… IF I were to use DropBox instead, and I have 3 different websites going into the UpdraftPlus directory on Dropbox, will each site know which files exactly to pull from this folder containing multiple sites?
Hi David, unfortunately, this did not resolve my problem. I tried restoring a few times tonight. Worked once, nicely I might add, but the rest of the attempts all yielded “Error: Download failed. Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?)”
I keep clicking Save Changes and after the refresh clicking the link that says click here to reauthenticate but it doesnt resolve the issue. Any other ideas on how to solve this? (localhost WAMP Windows 7 64-bit) I should note that I have no problem doing the backup/restore with DropBox. But I want to use GoogleDrive….

In reply to: links to posts all broken after upgrade to 2.5OK, it works when I have it back on default. But when I set it back to customize, I get a notice telling me to update my htaccess file. What am I supposed to do? I checked my directory and I dont even have an htaccess file!
