How do I
1. Reset the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
2. re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
3.- re-running the upgrade via wp-admin/upgradeForum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Cannot open admin, log out or anything elseYou sent this below via a link and I could not do point 3 -:
Or reset your plugins folder via FTP or the file manager provided in your host’s control panel.
1. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
2. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
3. Login to your WordPress administration menus (/wp-admin)
4. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”I do have a twentyten folder. Shall I attempt with that? Sorry am not tech savvy at all

In reply to: Cannot open admin, log out or anything elseThanks for the quick response. First I followed your link about resetting the plugins folder by FTP and tried to reset the plugins but cannot logout or login to wp-admin from the control panel.
Re your first suggestion, I have not yet downloaded Twenty Eleven yet. Are you suggesting I need to or am I able to switch to any themes that I have previously downloaded- for example – Twenty ten.
Thanks
