This makes no sense. If there are no additional letters shown, a tweet should not get truncated. When will there be a fix?
Thanks you very much for this explanation!
This is the message-format.. and now? Still truncated, still ~30 letters left.
I tried it out. Now there is just one og:image tag left – the featured image. I reloaded everything, have put it into the Google Structured Data Test Tool… and posted it on Google+ again: Still Google does NOT use the featured image. It takes just one from the content.
%TITLE%: %SURL%
But those tags are important for metadata etc. So that all pictures can be found, this is automatically set.
“Star Wars 7: J.J. Abrams präsentiert neuen X-Wing ganz ohne …: http://xxxxx.de/sku8c pic.twitter.com/1234567890”
I changed some words (but of course the same count of letters). 28 letters left.
Depending on the post there are multiple og:image tags. But the first one is always the featured image. But still Google does no longer take this picture, just one of the others.
No, I told you that there are ~30 letters left even WITH the link to the post AND the link to the image. Read carefully 🙂
… but Twitter-posts still get truncated without a reason. There are much letters left to use.
Correction: The API must have been updated automatically. Now Google+ auto-posts work. Why did the author not publish a news here in the forums or by using the plugin-ability of WordPress? I did not update the plugin manually, there was no information on the plugins page, nothing. How can this API been updated automatically?
With 2.15.43 it works now. But it would be better if the author would communicate those things to us users.
Yes, when opening the plugin-page, this is shown:
Plugin Version: 3.4.2 (API Version: 2.15.43) (Pro – Multiple Accounts Edition).
The API version did not fix it for me. Still the attached blogpost does NOT appear. Just the text – no blogpost, no image. Everything is correctly set up. I am using the PRO version of the plugin – and the plugin author does not answer at all. Great support, thank you!
Yes, because when the author marks a thread as “resolved” we cannot do anything again this. This problem is NOT fixed.
