You discuss a lot of gray areas like it is just business as usual – which it is – for the corporate bullies of 2026.
For example, asserting these terms as transferable – just makes things easy for the corp folks during M&A situations. And our assets get passed along, with no rights to stop it. For example, I can think of multiple companies that I don’t want to have my data. They are companies that like to buy companies like yours. (In fact, you for some odd reason use one of those companies for your email servers, which makes me not trust your company at all.) With your terms, i have no rights to stop that transfer.
Also, I never asserted that rights fully transfered to you. Just that you get to do whatever you want with our info, which is crap. And no – I didn’t realize it. And seems there are no good hosting companies without these greedy terms, based on some BS of ‘wah it won’t work if we don’t do whatever we want with your data’ – I call bs.
If anyone out there knows of a hosting company that doesn’t claim use of our data, I’d love know. I am looking for a new provider that doesn’t auto install AI updates and set up routes for passing data to 3rd parties. Thank you in advance.
