  • I’m having this same problem, but ONLY with one of the two payment options (radio buttons) in the PayPal box in my checkout. One radio button selects a normal payment option, “Pay via PayPal; you can pay with your credit card if you don’t have a PayPal account.” That works fine! No problems there. However, if someone selects the other button to use, “Use PayPal, Venmo, or Pay Later via PayPal or a Credit or Debit Card,” a prompt comes up on the checkout page that says,”PAYEE_ACCOUNT_INVALID Payee account specified is invalid. Please check the payee.email_address or payee.merchant_id specified and try again. Ensure that either payee.merchant_id or payee.email_address is specified.” How can the SAME widget have no problem completing a transaction if it’s paid in full, and say that my account is invalid if they want to pay over time, or with Venmo, or any of the other options? I can see other kinds of error messages being possible, but this one doesn’t make any sense to me. PayPal is no help. This forum at least got me thinking of the problem on a deeper level. Thank you. – So, I deactivated the “WooCommerce” and “WooCommerce PayPal Payments plug-ins,” cleared the cache, reactivated them, disconnected my account and reconnected it using the onboarding wizard (nothing was manually input in the first place). This had absolutely no effect on the problem. I’m absolutely back to square one. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Thank you in advance if you do! BTW, I did go through an dadd the extra vetting information to accept “Advanced Payments,” even though I am not using them. I simply want ALL the standard options to work. I’m loosing a major sale over this right now. – Tom

    Where is “functions.php?”

I can’t find “functions.php” anywhere. Where would it be?
