Sanjip S.Our team is further checking on the issue.
I have further few queries, that would probably help us fix this issue.
Are you using Google Chrome browser and ‘Google Translate’ feature available in the browser?
Have you tried any other browser and faced this same issue? Thanks.
Sanjip S.Also, if you have already tried deactivating and reactivating the Masteriyo plugin and if that still does not fix the issue.
Please send us screenshot or recording of both console and network tab in your browser.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.We will take it as suggestion, we will see if we can add Gutenberg editor for courses and lessons description in near future.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Masteriyo LMS – LMS Course Builder, Quizzes & Certificates] Edit-AccountHi @matbman,
Firstly, thanks for liking our Masteriyo plugin. Sorry, seems like I missed to reply on this thread with Christmas and all.
I tested the Edit Account tab in the Masteriyo account page with both Admin and Masteriyo Student role in my test site and it is working all fine.
Please make sure following are true in your case:
– In the dashboard, please go to Pages and make sure you only have single Account page. If there are any duplicates, please delete those.
– In the dashboard, please go to Masteriyo -> Settings -> Advanced -> Pages Setup. For the Account Page drop down option, please make sure you have the Account page selected there, the same page which is your Masteriyo account page in Pages.
Please make sure aboves are true and the account page should work fine. If not, please mention your site link here and I will test further in your site to find the issue.About the sign up page, yes there are no placeholder text but before any field in the signup page there is respective option label, so I think there should not be any confusion for the users while signing up. Please check this page, let me know if you still think placeholder is necessary.
Also, about the new account critical bug, I would need to test on your site. Maybe this is also related to your first issue, if that is resolved, this might be as well. Else, I will help you further.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.Hi @evatb,
Admin is like Instructor + Admin by default. Please do let us know if you are facing any issue or not seeing yourself (admin) in the dropdown for Instructor option for any course.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.Hi @marylineswiss,
I just checked and there seems to be this issue. We will be fixing this soon in our coming update. Thanks for reporting this issue.
I will let you know in this support thread once this is resolved.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.Try deactivating and reactivating the Masteriyo plugin.
This for the most case should resolve the issue, if it does not please let us know and we will further look into the issue.Thanks.
Sanjip S.Hi @evatb,
Nice to see you again here. 🙂
Actually, adding or changing user role is easy.
To add a new user (say new Instructor), please follow the instructions below.
- In the dashboard, go to Users-> Add New User.
- You should see add new user screen as shown here.
- Add the user details as you want. For the Role, please select role as Masteriyo Instructor.
- Save the changes. That’s it.
Similarly, to change the role of existing user.
– Please go to Users -> All Users.
– Click on the user that you want to edit.
– Simply change the role of user to Masteriyo Instructor and save the changes.Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Marking the ticket as resolved, you can always create a new support thread for any issue.Thanks.
Sanjip S.Firstly, thanks for giving a try to our plugin and for your feedback. 🙂
To answer your query, I would first like to explain my team’s thought process in making this plugin. Well, the idea always was and is to keep everything simple. So, with this idea we have tried our best to give the best user experience while creating courses and have just given the fields/options that is needed, without confusing users with tons of options.
Our Masteriyo plugin’s backend is built all on React JS to give the Single Page Application experience, thus we also built our own course creation simple minimal User Interface instead of using default WordPress editor or system to create course (similar to creation of post).
Now, coming to your question, I personally love Gutenberg and Elementor as well. 🙂 I do get your point of why not using these page builders. Let me explain in the points below.
1. To create courses list or course categories list, we do have Gutenberg blocks within the Masteriyo plugin. We will be making more Gutenberg blocks as needed in coming days and we will also be shifting in making similar widgets via Elementor in near future. So, we are using these for some part. 🙂
2. Rather than above I think your question specifically is: why not make use of Gutenberg editor or Elementor to create course’s content or lesson’s content within the course. As mentioned in our team’s thought process above, the idea is to keep it simple for now. Having said that, we have kept these things in mind and made our plugin’s architecture as such that if needed we can certainly add the compatibility with Gutenberg & Elementor to create course’s content but for now we will be keeping it as it is.
If more users suggest the same on this matter, we will be taking steps to enhance our plugin to add compatibility with Gutenberg and other page builders as we believe that plugin can only be successful if we work in the best interest of majority of our users. 🙂
One more thing: In the current version as well, you can shift to WordPress Editor of any course. To do so, in the dashboard, please go to Masteriyo -> Courses. Click on the three dots of any course row in the courses table. And then click on the WordPress editor option.
The content area of WordPress editor will not work completely as expected if you try editing course’s content from there. But say, if you have installed Yoast plugin for SEO setup, then you can setup all SEO related fields by switching to WordPress editor for any course.I may have over explained things here as I am little excited with our plugin Masteriyo and users feedback, I hope I haven’t confused you with my explanation. 🙂
If you have any more feedback, we would like to happily hear those and use it in improving our plugin.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.Hi @aronic,
We have just released an update version 1.3.3. Please update to this latest version.
This update includes some fixes and enhancement along with a fix to the issue that you mentioned. Can you please confirm from your side that the issue is now fixed? Thanks.
Sanjip S.Okay, no worries.
The previous similar issues that we encountered for other users were related to permissions. Deactivating and reactivating the plugin should have fixed the issue, however in your case seems like deleting and reinstalling the plugin might have done the trick. 🙂
Marking this thread as resolved. You can create a new support thread if you face this issue again or for any other issue, we are here for you.
Thanks.
Sanjip S.Thanks for the screenshot.
Just like you added the screenshot of the console tab, can you please also add the screenshot of the network tab when the issue occurs. It would help us better understand the issue.
Thanks.
