In reply to: [Infopopup] Where to place codeBefore anyone answers, I actually figured it out. The popup code replaces the text! So, the title of my popup has to be the text I want to appear on the webpage. I got it.
So, I did this and the correct text is re-appearing on the page so I know I did that right. My cursor turns into an arrow when mousing over the text so it seems to recognize it.
My problem now is nothing is popping up when I mouse over (or click tho I specified “mouse over”.)

In reply to: I've hit a wallOh, I hadn’t realized that I was breaking a policy. Sorry.
So, JenR, you are officially my website God(dess). Your solution for my VISUAL issue was absolutely correct! So simple. So many weeks of torture. Thank you!
And I wasn’t quite sure about the Custom CSS, BUT you motivated me to re-watch the original youtube video and re-learn that the portion of the page I was struggling with was the logo. So, I created a new logo and imported! Check it out. Is the purple too much?
So, the last item about SEO and such. Let me be more specific.
I downloaded SEO Yoast. In following yet another youtube video, I was trying to follow instructions only to find that my WP Home Page has only one random sentence of my Home Page text (Did You Know… Black Furred animals…) and the rest of my home page text is under Appearance / Theme Options / Home Page including “Did you know… Black furred animals…”. So I think that’s simple – the theme is simply overriding the standard. Not a mystery. How that single sentence ended up in the standard I have no idea.
But my issue is that SEO fields Yoast is looking for such as Focus Keyword, SEO Title, Meta Description are only found on the standard Home Page. They are not under the Theme home page, so I’m stumped as to how to SEO. This is why I was thinking I should just copy and paste my text to the standard home page since it is overridden anyway, and then can SEO regardless. But I’m not sure that would work.

In reply to: Text vs. HTMLWell, the more I look at it, the more I realize that there is a deeper problem. For example, I can’t SEO my home page because, for whatever reason, only one random sentence in the middle of my home page appears under PAGES/HOME. The rest of my home page text is only in APPEARANCES/THEME OPTIONS/HOME PAGE which doesn’t allow the SEO YOAST to optimize.
So, I think what I really need is some charitable person to go on a 10 minute GOTOMEETING with me and help me figure this thing out because this is way over my head. “I’m just a country doctor, Jim.” Actually, a writer.

In reply to: Text vs. HTMLJack – all I know is I have to go to Appearances/Theme Options/Home Page.
Jekkilekki – thanks very much. I made the change you showed me and it worked fine. No, I don’t see Text/Visual tabs at all. I updated all my plug-ins and Responsive, but my headers above the editing area look nothing like the image you attached. Actually, my tabs look almost like the tabs above this window in which I’m typing with the addition of del, code, more, close tagsI’m asking because, even though you helped me delete the paragraph I wanted, I still would like to be able to edit at will in the future and would prefer to see the EDIT view.

In reply to: Text vs. HTMLI am using Responsive by Cyberchimps.
Please understand I didn’t write code nor could I. I wrote a book and wrote this website to support the sales process – I am not a website designer by any stretch. Actually, I was pretty proud of the stuff I created on the site for a first-timer. http://www.LastStopBeforeRainbowBridge.com if that helps. When I wrote the website (following a youtube video step-by-step) the home page was in TEXT, not HTML, so it was easy for me to edit. I want to delete my first paragraph on my home page but am concerned as to where to start and stop the cut without messing up the code. Much more obvious when it just displays text.
So, most of what you wrote went way over my head. I did right-click/Inspect Elements and I do see tinymce-editor. I think in everything you wrote, the sentence “the HTML to Text tabs are in a <div> with class wp-editor-tabs” is the one I need translated into newbie lingo. To be clear, I’m just trying to get it to display in text, not HTML, like it used to. (And thanks for trying to help so far.)
