In reply to: [footnotes] Visual editor integration is very basicHi greenrd2,
did you check out on the information Stefan gave you?
As an additional step, in the WYSIWYG Editor you need to select the text that should appear as a footnote and then click the “fn” button. That should help. Maybe you can adjust your rating, considering this new information…

In reply to: [footnotes] Can't View DocumentHi Pastor Sherry,
as we need additional information to troubleshoot your issue, we’ve come up with an idea to put a diagnostics section to our plugin. This should happen later this week with an update of the plugin.
As soon as this update is published, I’ll let you know here and we’ll get back to you.
With the help of this diagnostics section, we could extract the required information to try and reproduce your issue.Stay tuned, Pastor.

In reply to: [footnotes] Hyperlink references?Hi 34503895,
I’m happy you like our plugin.
As you’ve figured out correctly, our Plugin per se does not convert URLs to hyperlinks. If a URL is written in plain text with no markup (= the html a tag), there will be no hyperlink.
You can however properly use hyperlinks inside your footnotes.
I would also recommend going this way, as from an SEO perspective of things. I suppose the “Autolink URI” plugin creates a simple hyperlink without additional information which would help search engines to figure out the context of the hyperlink. Creating the hyperlink yourself, you could make sure all attributes are entered correctly, such as title and alt. Additionally, if you have external links, you want these links to open in new tabs, which can only be achieved by adding the target=”_blank” attribute to the hyperlink. Alternatively, you can use the WYSIWYG editor of WordPress, which gives you this particular setting as an option, if you mark a section of text and add a hyperlink that way.I’m not sure, what you mean by adding an additional reference title…

In reply to: [footnotes] Problem w/ access to plugin on multisiteSo I’ve installed a multisite wordpress and I also installed footnotes.
While it doesn’t appear in the list of plugins, it’s still available in the Settings menu for the network administrator. If I’m the site administrator however, I can not see the settings of footnotes. Another Plugin of ours is visible, though (competition).
So this seems to be an issue with the footnotes plugin indeed. We’ll investigate further.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [footnotes] ImpressiveOK. It works. You can change your rating after the fact.
Go to the Plugin Page. Where you see the average rating.. Below is another 5 Stars, where it says “My Rating” if you clicked 5 Star there, you could update your rating…
Would help 🙂

In reply to: [footnotes] ImpressiveHi Cindy,
Cheers for your review! It means the world to us.
Could you please state the specific reason, why you didn’t go up a notch and added that fifth star? I’m sure, I’m not the only one who’s curious as to why it’s only four stars.
I’m totally happy with your review as is but I’m just extremely curious 🙂

In reply to: [footnotes] How to make this footnote style?Hi Southwest
Cheers for this super-awesome write-up!
May I use this as a description for other possible “converts”?It must have taken you a good chunk of your time to firstly switch over and secondly even write the helpful advise. I’d like these hours of yours to be of use for a lot of other people as well. So: Where would you put that information, so a lot of people will stumble upon it?
Anytime. Hope you are and stay happy with our footnotes 😉

In reply to: [FD Footnotes Plugin] Opens up new window??Hi thorax232,
if this gives you headaches, why not try https://wordpress.org/plugins/footnotes/
This might solve your problem right from the spot.
We’ve had our issues with the reference links as well but through the support of the community, we could iron those out.Hi Southwest,
since I wasn’t too happy with a lot of these footnotes plugins out there, I grabbed a developer and created a new footnotes plugin from scratch, which seems to be doing fine.. We’re motivated through all the feedback that already came back to us.
You can also give this a spin and it should fix your troubles. If not, just ask in our support forum and we’ll get back to you. You don’t need to change all your footnotes, since you can customize the shortcodes for footnotes.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [FD Footnotes Plugin] Including a titleHi Michael,
we’ve developed a footnotes plugin, that might cover just what you’re looking for. You can give it a spin, can’t you?
