The hashtag is added when you select to generate the tags from categories or tags. Are you sure you are using correct setting ?

No, we are not aware of any plugin that could conflict with ours, especially for this kind of problem.
For generating the permalink we are using the wordpress get_permalink function, nothing fancy that could produce this. Your problem is that for some posts the permalink is returning secures links and for some it isnt. The result of get_permalink is not altered by us.

Regarding the problem with multiple tweets in a single session, you usually get this on websites with large amount of traffic and big number of posts in the database. The solutions to this problem is related in the FAQ of the plugin:
* enable Remote Check
* add this line to your wp-config.php right after the lines with database credentials:

@casalsexvampires this error is usually showing when you server is blocked by twitter. You need to check with your hosting to see what’s going on
@rotozeev your error is showing when you are sending multiple tweets in a short interval of time. Twitter is considering this a spam and you need to either increase the interval or change the format. We can not control this situation.
