Hey all, I solved it by myself.
After recreating the whole website, I noted that the Ceceppa multilingue plugin has an option called “Translate WordPress static page” and, in the additional info, they had a warning that stated “If the plugin changes the homepage to a random page, try to deactivate this option”. That’s it.
This is what happened: the plugin tried to translate the “static page” I was setting in Customizr panel, but we can only set one page as a static page (in my case, the English version). Every time someone accessed the site, the plugin recognized the default browser and redirected the user to a mocked static frontpage.
The problem is: the plugin saves, in a Session, the last visited page and the mess begun when this session was, somehow, saved in Customizr “Frontpage” section. I don’t know how this happened, but disabling the option and creating separated frontpages for all languages did the trick.
Anyway, thanks! Hope this can help someone.
Cheers.
Well, this didn’t solve the problem. During the night, the homepage changed randomly to “contacts” page and I had to manually reset it to “home”.
I am now creating a new server to start the website from scratch. The good thing is that, using Customizr, it will be faster (at least).
Curious fact: when I was customizing it to change the page, I ran across a weird warning message. I searched for it and discovered that it is a warning being generated by WordPress core. However, it stated they patched it in the newer version.
I am using Wp and Customizr newer versions and the message keeps appearing. It may be nothing more than a warning or it may be causing weird behaviors, I am not sure.
Thanks for the support anyway.
Hi, Mike!
Thanks for the quick reply. I de-activated Jetpack and will be checking for a couple of hours from now.
The configurations on the Frontpage are all ok, I double checked it. I also tried to recreate the home page for the three languages and it seems that nothing was wrong.
I keep wondering if it may be an issue related with the fact that I created a child theme for Customizr (following their documentation), but it doesn’t seem to make any sense.
Thanks!
Marcos.
