In reply to: [Email Before Download] Still a php error breaking my site – temp fixHi @wwwolf,
We have tried updating to the “new” code you are referencing in our local test environments, but we find this breaks certain sites that use non-English characters. Can you possibly provide more information that could help us understand how this “old” code is breaking your layout so we can come up with a fix that will work for you as well as and others? The “old” code doesn’t seem to break any layouts in the test environments we are using, so I am wondering if there might be an issue specific to certain themes.

In reply to: [Email Before Download] Conflict with Contact Form 7 – Conditional Fields?Hi @wwwolf,
I tried to navigate to your test page. It seems the top form fails but the bottom one succeeds. I’m not entirely sure what the difference is between the two forms.
Can you please share:
1. Shortcode and a URL showing the WordPress Download Monitor working successfully
2. Shortcode and a URL showing the Contact Form 7 working successfully
3. Shortcode and a URL showing that Email Before Download failingIn the meanwhile, we will try to test with the “Contact Form 7 Conditional Fields” in our own test environment as well to see if there is some inherent incompatibility that we can help address on the EBD side.

In reply to: [Email Before Download] Confused about CF7 integrationHi mdc2957,
Yes, Contact Form 7 and Download Monitor Plugins are required in order to use this (Email Before Download) plugin. We add some features while combining those two very popular — and free — plugins together to allow you accept someone’s name/email (via CF7) and display (or email) a link to a download (via Download Monitor).
We decided to go this direction since web forms and downloads have a lot of features we didn’t want to replicate; we wanted to let people use the best-of-breed tools for those purposes.
Hope this helps, and good luck with EBD or whichever tool(s) you decide to go with.
