same problem here. We chose this plug-in to avoid manual installation, think is its purpose.
Our issue is not installing the plug-in, is that the plug-in doesn’t work. We don’t get theme’s updates from the plug-in, sometimes.
We run 2 websites with the same theme: on one of them the plug-in actually works. On the second it doesn’t. So the first has 4.1.4 theme version while the second is stucked at 4.0.1.
We’ll check if there’s any other different installed plug-in that goes on conflict or some.
