In reply to: [Plugin: Connections] A few questionsSteve, thanks for the answers (both here and in email). Having the answers here should hopefully help others in the future.
Andy
For the plugin author, here is one more note about your plugin’s interaction with another plugin:
Every day I have a routine post, similar but not identical to the previous day’s post. I use a plugin called Duplicate Post that does just that, creates a duplicate of a chosen post, so that I don’t have to worry about adding a feature image, SEO descriptions, etc. when they are the same post to post.
However creating the duplicate also must retain whatever flag you’re setting indicating that the post has already been posted to Facebook, so the checkbox for publishing to Facebook is NOT checked even though the new post is in a category you’ve selected to automatically be published to Facebook. Perhaps you could look at a combination of fields in the database to determine whether the checkbox should be checked, not just the field you’re currently checking. For example in this Duplicate post, the post has never been Published to WordPress, so maybe you can check against that field? Just a thought.
Update: SOLVED
I tested today with a post from the original category. Works like a charm! Thanks again for your help.
Update: This morning I posted a new post from a different category (otherwise didn’t change any settings from my prior post). This post has an inline image and a featured image (both are the same image), which is the same image scheme as my other posts. This one posted correctly!
So I will wait until I have another post from the first category, and see if that posts correctly. If not, I’ll report back here. Thanks again for the support.
Thanks for the reply. I deactivated the Fix Facebook Like plugin and published one of the posts that hadn’t been published yet. I had selected “from post” as the image, and this time it got an entirely different image, a graphic from my Poll plugin. Ugh. I tried changing to “Default” to see the difference, but got the same result, probably because of the facebook cache that you’ve described. I guess I’ll have to create a dummy post or two to test with . Can you suggest the best option to get an image of my choice into FB? I read in one of your posts that I could modify something to get the second image of a post which might solve this issue, but I don’t know what to change. Thanks.
Oh, and just so you know (and yes I am kind of plugin-heavy), when it publishes the post it takes the “Title” from the Title field in my All In One SEO fields for the post, not the actual post title. No problem, for these posts I can duplicate the post title in the SEO title, but just wanted to point this out to you.

Note: I see a post here from 3 weeks ago with a similar issue (he had a Facebook Badge being posted).
So I tried your solutions in that post (although I don’t really know how to select the second image, so not sure I tried that properly) and it didn’t fix the problem. For the record:
The post has an image in the post.
The post has a featured image set (the same image as is in the post).
The SlimStat image that is showing is not attached to the post (as far as I know). This is a behind-the-scenes statistics plugin.Any help appreciated. Thanks.
