To add I have also tried connecting to the same DB via a new wordpress install in a fresh directory

Again the site fails to load.

I removed the white space at the end of wp-config but still doesn’t work. Any ides folks?

Ran through manual install & the /wp-admin/upgrade.php states my DB is up to date.

I click continue which should take me to the home page but now all my content is gone and I have the same blank screen I had for /wp-admin.

Could there be a problem with my DB?

Could deleting the htaccess effect access to wp-admin?

I have tried a couple of ways to access the back end using absolute urls but still no joy. I followed the steps in he wp-super cache uninstall but no luck there either.

If I delete the old wp core files (except those stated) is there a chance my DB has some tables left over that are corrupt? I tried looking for wp-super cache in the DB but found nothing.
