Thanks for the input but problem persists. Had not set any column widths – now using:

Result: Same problem as before.

Only solution I can find is not to use the widget and use shortcode in text widget instead – not ideal but allows you to wrap code for targeting.
Thanks but afraid not – tried that – using your example a sub UL is rendered within the div inside the LI – mangled output.
Everything I have tried results in this or the div you wrap the list in gets stripped.
Any other ideas? Very basic functionality – must be possible to target the UL for styling – surely?

Hi there,
I have a similar requirement. Looking to build a database of with a front end search form – say a drop down box of locations, checkboxes of skills and a free text field – that lets visitors view a list of participants that match these criteria.
Have installed plugin but can find no reference to this sort of functionality – does it exist out of the box (as handy shortcodes perhaps) or is it going to need a lot of custom coding?

By far the best and most popular background manager out there – premium included – real shame to see it abandoned (seems to be the case with many good plugins these days) as nothing really comes close in terms of functionality and quality. I’d happily pay $20 for it.

Thanks for the answer above – but I’ve already been there.
WP Symposium Options / fORUMS / View forum roles is set to Admin only.
When I go to forums as a non logged in user I get the “Sorry, but you are not permitted to view the forum.” message (a login page would probably be friendlier but what the hey).
HOWEVER – as a non logged in user with no access to forums I still see the content of recent forum posts in widgets – sure I can’t link through to the posts but I can read the summaries which is not great when a forum is supposed to be private.
So – as there is no documentation or other information available to me before I buy – do you think you could please answer this simple yes or no question for me?
Is there any way to prevent non logged in users without permission to view forums from seeing the Recent Forums Post widget or its content?
