  • I did the same thing. In the settings page I changed the were from the /wordpress to root. After getting the internal server error 500 I panicked. Logged into my hosting and under the wordpress settings also changed the directory using the workspress app in the server. That didn’t work. I also changed the servers programming language from 5.2 to 5.3. That didn’t work. I performed a backup of the whole folder and also using the myphpadmin. Then I tried to roll back the software from 3.8 the previous version. I removed the wordpress using the app in my server. Reinstalled and nothing. Deleted everything from the server and reinstalled. Copies all I the old files over and that did not work. Did this a few times. Each time I removed the wordpress using the server app my login changes for the myphp which I have seen this login in several places in the pages. So I have deleted everything again and then reinstalled wordpress and reinstalled the themes and the plugins I had active.
I saw the pages on having to create the htaccess file which did and also went into the two settings under config in myphp and changed those. Most likely it was too late I am thinking if because of the changes to the SQL database login changes.
So I have everything fresh and want to be able to upload all of the pages I have working in for the past month if possible with the themes and everything. Is this possible?
If not it there a somewhat uncomplicated way to at least pull all of the text from the back of of te whole site so I can at least use that and have to recreate all of the settings, theme, etc.
    anyone can help?
